Lanier Beach South Pump Station

The City of Cumming decommissioned the Lanier Beach South Water Reclamation Facility and two pump stations that had been in operation since the early 1970s and replaced the system with one pump station meeting the City's current standards. The new pumping station pumps wastewater to the City's 8 million gallon per day Advanced Water Reclamation Facility on Bethelview Road.”

The previous plant handled about 38,000 gallons a day and served about 150 homes in the Lanier Beach South, Deep Cove and South Shore subdivisions. The outdated treatment facility discharged effluent directly to Lake Lanier. The area is off Buford Dam Road on Lake Lanier in eastern Forsyth County
