The Settingdown Creek Pump Station and Collection System brings sewer to the northwest area of the Ciity of Cumming's Water & Sewerage Service Area. The pump station will ultimately serve approximately 12 square miles of the City's Service Area. The initial pumping rate is 2.0 MGD with a duplex configuration and 4.7 MGD with the ultimate triplex configuration per the City of Cumming's Sewer Master Plan.
The initial phase of the Settingdown Creek Pump Station includes two 160-HP Flygt submersible pumps with variable frequency drives (VFD) to flow pace. The pump station will ultimately be a triplex station with the installation of one additional 160-HP pump. A 400 kW standby generator provides continuous operation during power failures. The 12-foot diameter wet well provides substantial storage for the ultimate flow requirement.
The Pump Station pumps over three miles through a 14-inch DIP force main to the City's Gravity Sewer at the intersection of Dr. Bramblett Road and Spot Road Connector, connecting to the Cty's Bethelvew Road Advanced Water Reclamation Facility.
Construction of the Settingdown Creek Pump Station and Collection System was completed December of 2015 for just under $3.0 million.
